We looked at the work of the Pop artists, and in particular the sculptures of Claes Oldenburg, to recreate popular food items out of clay.
Year 7 Painting - Fauve Paintings and Complementary Colours
For this unit, the students studied colour theory and learnt about complementary / contrasting colours. We looked to the works of the Fauve artists who used brilliant and complementary colours in their paintings as inspiration and the students recreated their own Fauve paintings using complementary colour schemes. These works made a wonderful and vibrant display in the school's halls.
